Artful Learning stimulates and deepens academic learning through the arts while preserving and honoring the legacy of Leonard Bernstien.
The Leonard
Bernstein Center
and the Artful Learning® model place the arts at the center of learning and
believe that the arts cross all disciplines.
Teachers are prepared to use the arts and the creative process to
strengthen teaching and learning by providing a system to organize curriculum
through units of study. Student
assessment is based on content and performance standards. Through the Artful Learning® model,
participants are immersed in four key components: experience, inquire, create
and reflect. From the example of Leonard
Bernstein, both students and teachers explore the learning environment using
the lens of the artist, the mentorship of the teacher, and the discipline of
the scholar.
